Creeds & Doctrinal Statements

At Legacy Reformed Baptist Church we derive our statement of faith from the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith
We also recognize the value of many historic and contemporary creeds, confessions, and doctrinal statements. Below you will find several that we believe to be accurate reflections of Biblical truth on relevant topics:

Creeds

The Apostles’ Creed

Dating back to the fourth century, this creed highlights the trinitarian nature of the Godhead.

The Nicene Creed

From 325AD, this creed affirms the truth of the Scriptures regarding the full deity of Jesus Christ as being of one substance with the Father.

Chalcedon Creed

From 451 AD, this creed affirms the duality and distinction of the divine and human natures of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Doctrinal Statements

Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy
Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood
Nashville Statement on a Biblical Understanding of Human Sexuality
Dallas Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel

Baptist Catechism

A catechism is simply a means of teaching important truths by means of memorized questions and answers. We use the Baptist Catechism (also known as Keach’s Catechism) as a part of our worship service and for use in the home during we week. You can download a copy of this catechism at the link below.
